New School committee at Adass

A new dawn has risen over the Adass Israel School and Mosdos Hachinuch.

Although Board Elections were called, a new committee has been installed by default after Y.Z. Fixler removed himself from contention after a contentious meeting at the house of the Adass Israel's Rabbi Beck. The meeting was attended by all election nominees, as well as a representative member of the Election Committee and Professor Israel Herszberg.

The new committee members are:
  • Moshe Benedikt
  • Yitzchak Benedikt
  • Yumi Friedman
  • Moshe Friedman
  • Chaim Klein
  • Nosan Klein
  • Yoili Klein
  • Benyomin  Koppel
  • Yossi Spigelman
  • Arele Strasser
  • Avremi Weiszberger

A short outline of the new committee:

·         Moshe Benedikt was in the committee previously. He is also a member of the Adass Chevra Kadisha.

·         Yitzchak Benedikt has been in the committee and the President of the committee for a number of years. He is also a member of the Adass Chevra Kadisha.

·         Moshe Friedman was in the committee previously. He is also a member of the Adass Israel Kehilla committee.

·         Chaim Klein was in the previous committee and is also a member of the Adass Israel Chevra Kadisha.

·         Nosan Klein is a newcomer to the committee. We wish him great success. He is also a member of the Adass Chevra Kadisha.

·         Yoili Klein was in the previous committee.

·         Benyomin Koppel was in the previous committee. He is also a member of the Adass Israel Kehilla committee and the unofficial Rosh Hakohol.

·         Yossi Spigelman (Jnr.) is a newcomer to the committee. We wish him great success.

·         Arele Strasser was in the previous committee. He is also a member of the Adass Israel Kehilla committee

·         Avremi Weiszberger was in the previous committee for some time until he resigned last year for personal reasons.

We wish the new committee lots of hatzlacha.

We hope and pray that this new Committee use this special opportunity to serve the community with honesty, integrity and heart, and avoid making important decisions based on personal feelings or bias.

  6. It seems that there are many people in the world - especially Satmar chassidim - but others as well - who are very upset at the way Vechter stole children from their parents. While taking money from them for teaching Torah in what they thought was his private - Satmar _ yeshiva, was actually brainwashing them with Lubavitch stuff - and warning his talmidim not to reveal any of this to their parents.

A Gerrer rosh yeshiva who knows the whole episode claims that had vechter done this to Gerr boys, he would've been DOA

  7. First of all it's not chabad not adass it's a shul for any chasiddim that are interested in davening in a place without any politics and a place that welcomes everyone to talk if it's according to הלכה, and btw I would be more worried about talking לשון הרע then then kids being stamer or chabad as long as they are jewish and keep תורה ומצוות, and besides the point (about r' mendel vechter) it's not completely ture, (there's always two sides to a story), and one thing for sure he's probably a little bit more choshev then you for he doesn't have access to Internet which I'm sure you do, (not that I im, as you can see that I have access to) so next time please read what's written underneath about the considering before commenting

  8. Didn't someone call this new place Lelav?

    That sounds OK to me.

Please come and support - they are struggling for minyan on Friday nights

Please give it a chance at least for a couple of months until they use up all the rental credit

  11. IS there even one person on the Addass committe with any involvement in education / chinuch ? Any qualification or shimush for anything what soe ever.....Does not paying any money to the kehilla for hechsher make you pusel to be on the committee ??

What about Professor Heszberg...great if they were building an airport or aeroplane, but what does he know about kids, schools or people skills....

How about recording all meetings and giving paid members access to them so that people actually know what is happening within their own kehilla ??
